The background is white, with a small logo of a blue and red foot and a black heart at the bottom right corner, along with text indicating the organization "a precious child" and a QR code.

The UllrGrass Band Contest 2027 will be held on Thursday January 21, 2027 at 6 pm at New Terrain Brewing Co in Golden, Colorado. Submissions are due by Jan 1, 2027 and Finalists will be announced on Jan 5, 2027.

BAND CONTEST REGISTRATION

The winner of the UllrGrass Band Contest will be offered a set at the UllrGrass Music Festival 2027 and a Main Stage set at UllrGrass 2028. We are holding Fireside Sets for Runners Up and participating bands as well.

Finalists (9 bands) will be selected to perform a 3-song set at New Terrain on Thursday January 21, 2027 in front of a live audience and a panel of judges. The winner will be announced immediately following the contest.

Finalists should arrive by 5:30 pm for orientation. Performance order will be posted at that time.

This contest is open to string bands and non-string bands alike. The judging will be based on the "instrumental performance", "vocal performance - including use of harmony", and "overall performance". Favorable consideration will also be given to bands performing original songs (bands should introduce their original songs as such).

Congratulations to the 2026 Band Contest winners, Bouldergrass, who will play the UllrGrass Mainstage this year.
