The Band Contest is a FREE event and open to the public.

Submissions are due by Jan 1, 2026 -

To enter, simply paste an audio or video link and your website in the FB event for consideration.

Finalists (9 bands) will be selected to perform a 3-song set in front of a live audience and a panel of judges. The winner will be announced immediately following the contest.

The winner of the UllrGrass Band Contest will be offered a Main Stage set at UllrGrass 2027.

The contest is open to string bands and non-string bands alike. The judging will be based on the “instrumental performance", “vocal performance - including use of harmony", and “overall performance". Favorable consideration will also be given to bands performing original songs (bands should introduce their original songs as such).
